Was nun? Synchronisieren statt Untertiteln? Nein! Nein! Nein! – zumindest was das Kino betrifft; ... daher: vielleicht doch? Adaptieren statt Synchronisieren? Einen neuen Sinn, eine neue Aufgabe suchen? Schwierig, schwierig.

_Spruchsammlung fuer Autoschilder oder Lebkuchenherzen (siehe Sarah-Kommentar: „I am in love with a married woman- its my wife!” oder US-Autoschild: „Lord help me to be the person my cat thinks I am“).

_...

A few more suggestions:

_ Ceci n'est pas un sous-titre. (You could rename the whole thing La Trahison des Mots... )

_ [*claire]

_ Eine Plattform zur Bankstreethostelgastbuchablehnung - with my deepest apologies to your beautiful, yet bewilderingly polysyllabic language :-)

I couldn't quite figure out option #4, but if computer game development is involved, count me in!

Hi Sammy.

Thank you for taking part in the right-to-bear-a-name-discussion.

_ The first proposal on the list is actually and already yours ;-) e.g. recording Germany through the eyes of a foreigner even though being acquainted with it perfectly.

_ The betrayal of the words? “la trahison des mots” = tender advice to switch the language ? ;-) ..associated with the recommendation of using [claire*] instead of [clara*]?

_ when writing « Bankstreethostelgästebuchablehnung » - do you intend to mean « challenge » when using the word « Ablehnung ». If so, the more fitting noun might be “Herausforderung” / “Mutprobe”. (just to make German readers understand…)

_ number 4 denotes: revealing “trends” and collecting life stories of trendy persons – after having accumulated sufficing stories, the characters will be basis / muse for a new computer game

_ new suggestion: ]silence[ = climax of fantasy = empty blog = end of blog

Well, renaming a blog seems to me much more difficult than I thought beforehand. :-)

Well, if your readership rebels against the new linguistic regime, you can always quote Hans Castorp's reply to Mme Chauchat's complaint... :-)

"Please, sir, speak German!"

"Oh, but I am speaking German, even if I am speaking French."

the more fitting noun might be “Herausforderung” / “Mutprobe”

There were about a dozen different translations of "denial" in the english-german dictionary, and I was in a hurry... at least I got "buch" right!

]silence[

Perhaps you could set the font colour for the word "silence" to white, so that nothing is visible unless highlighted. :-)

Interesting suggestion... ;-) I am becoming more and more fascinated by the idea of silence in general - no matter whether concerning challenges, blogs or again the Zauberberg / Settembrini:
